Handwoven Natural and Unbleached Hemp Scarf
This natural, eco friendly hemp scarf is handwoven from the highest grade of unbleached and undyed virgin hemp yarn.
It has natural tones varying between honey straw and pail oatmeal, with twisted and knotted fringe ends. It measures 36cm wide x 180cm long (excluding fringes)
It is 100% natural and free of chemicals that are used in the mass produced textile industry, making it safe for the environment and healthy for your skin.
This hemp shawl is hand woven by the H’mong hill tribe women in the northern region of Thailand which does not suffer from the factories and sweatshops that are prevalent in Bangkok and other Asian centres.
Our handmade items adhere to Fair Trade principles, benefiting the family and village based groups that produce them, ensuring that the wealth generated by the labor involved goes directly to the people who create them.
We are proud to be a part of this cottage based industry and to support the artists who create these beautiful pieces.
Although it takes natural dyes really well, we think this scarf is absolutely beautiful in its raw colour therefor we offer it undyed.
We are more than happy to naturally dye it on request.
Contact us for a specific shade and tone and allow for some extra time to complete your order (subject to availability).
Our scarves are handmade in small batches with one of I kind finish that defines our lines as part of the slow fashion movement, where fabric time and craft take priority over trends and fast consumer culture.
