Handwoven Cotton and Linen Scarf in Light Brown
Handwoven on a small loom and naturally dyed Scarf.
Unique cotton and linen mix that has been plant dyed in a earthy Light Brown/Beige Tone.
This scarf has solid weave with a tactile feel typical for a more heavier linen structure. It is perfect for these colder days coming into winter.
This beautiful natural wrap has a fringe at both ends and measures 36 x 180cm long (excluding fringes).
The scarf is handwoven in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, a region that does not suffer from the factories and sweatshops that are prevalent in Bangkok and other Asian centres.
Our handmade items adhere to Fair Trade principles, benefiting the family and village based groups that produce them, ensuring that the wealth generated by the labor involved goes directly to the people who create them.
We are proud to be a part of this cottage based industry and to support the artists who create these beautiful pieces.
The Light Brown Tone is acheived using natural plant dyes extracted at a small Art Studio within our garden on the South Coast of England where we grow harvested and process broad variety of plants.
We prepare the plant materials following traditional methods to obtain the powerful botanical dyes which we apply on the natural fibres.
It is 100% natural and free of chemicals that are used in the mass produced textile industry, making it safe for the environment and for the health of your skin.
This amazing scarf is truly unique as the colours we extract vary through the seasons, making it impossible to replicated the exact shade.
Our scarves are handmade in small batches with one of I kind finish that defines our lines as part of the slow fashion movement, where fabric time and craft take priority over trends and fast consumer culture.
We hope that you enjoy wearing this piece as much as we enjoy creating it.
