Sky Blue Indigo Naturally Dyed Pure Silk Scarf
Natural pure silk scarf, made from a high grade 8 mm mulberry silk and finished with hand rolled hems.
Unique and authentic the light blue colour of this scarf is achieved by dying the silk with oak bark followed by dipping in natural indigo leaf extract.
We work from our art studio on the South Coast of England surrounded by our home garden where we grow harvested and gather a broad variety of plants which we prepare following traditional methods to obtain the powerful botanical dyes.
It is 100% natural and free of chemicals that are used in the mass produced textile industry, making it safe for the environment and for the health of your skin.
As opposite to chemically dyed factory produced flat colours, plant dyed colours are alive with their unique vibration. Some colour variations can be a common features of hand dyed pieces, these are considered desirable characteristics and are valued marks of handmade cloth.
As with all hand dyed fabric, there will be slightly different tones and variations in each unique piece.
To take care, hand wash in cool water using mild soap and dry naturally. Can be ironed on a low heat for a satin silk feel, although we prefer the authentic crinkled look when dried naturally.
We offer this rich shade of Indigo blue in two different scarf sizes to suit your individual style
Size one classic long - 150 x 40 cm
Size two large square - 90 x 90 cm
You can also find the dark blue indigo scarf here.
